Columbia River Gorge Waterfalls & Beyond Tour

Dog Star Adventure Tours is excited to announce the addition of a new tour:

McMenamin’s Edgefield to Horsetail Falls Route.

This ride is 40 (plus) miles in distance and it features all the natural beauty one could hope to see in that distance.  We begin a McMenamin’s Edgefield just west of the city of Troutdale.  The ride takes you quickly through Troutdale, across the Sandy River and onto the Historic Columbia River Highway.  The HCRH has a decent shoulder and moderate uphill gain through this section.  This section is a good way to stretch your legs and find the proper gearing.  We will visit the Portland Women’s Forum State Scenic Viewpoint, getting a glimpse of Vista House and the Columbia River and the Gorge.  From the Forum we will travel down to Vista House, than down the hill to the first of the waterfalls on this tour.  Latourell, Bridal Veil, Wakeena, Multnomah, Oneonta and finally, Horsetail; they are all unique and splendid in their own way.  We will enjoy all of the falls and will turn around at Horsetail Falls, the last falls before we would encounter I-84.  Lunch will be served along the route; so don’t worry about burning some calories.

This tour has van support and your guides will pull a B.O.B. trailer to ensure your camera and a change of shoes is close at hand. The pace will be moderate and allow for plenty of stops, photo opts and getting to share stories with your fellow cyclists and guides.  This is an out and back ride; we will see the falls from multiple directions.  Good communication between guests and guides will ensure a fun and safe afternoon in the saddle for all participants.  We will return to Edgefield, although your official Dog Star Adventure Tour is over, plan on spending some time at this unique McMenamin’s establishment.  Whether having dinner, enjoying a pint, watching glass blowing or spending the night Edgefield is the perfect post ride establishment.

The introductory price for this day trip is $125.
